Delta 9 THC is the primary compound found in the resinous glands of a cannabis plant, and is directly responsible for psychoactive effects. It mirrors the body’s naturally occurring cannabinoids and attaches to these receptors to alter and enhance sensory perception. THC can create a feeling of euphoria by enhancing dopamine levels in the brain. The amount of THC in a cannabis product can vary widely based on the method of consumption and the strain at the source of that product. The high that is produced is often enhanced by the “entourage effect” which is a combination of multiple cannabinoids in conjunction with various terpenes and individual body chemistry.

THC-D9 (Delta 9–tetrahydrocannabinol)

LayUp Limeade is a hybrid infused beverage in a 12oz can. It arrives as a tart lime soft drink, with the hybrid classification sitting between the two ends of the spectrum rather than leaning hard either way. The terpene profile runs herbal and woody underneath the citrus, with pine and spice notes shaping the character. A single-serve format for shoppers who prefer drinking over chewing or smoking.

Each 12oz can carries 10mg of THC. Consumers report a calm, happy feeling that settles in alongside a relaxed body, with some also describing an energetic edge that keeps the experience from going flat. Those reports tend to place it in the middle ground, relaxed but still awake and sociable. A popular choice for backyard gatherings, weekend afternoons or anywhere a cold drink fits the setting.

The terpene profile is led by humulene, alpha pinene and beta caryophyllene, joined by beta myrcene, beta pinene and camphene. Together they read herbal and woody, with pine running through the middle and a sharp, sweet spice from the caryophyllene. Beta myrcene adds an earthy, musky depth with a hint of cloves, while camphene keeps the herbal side forward. LayUp Limeade is available at ZenZest in New York.
